The competitions play an important role during the KBO, but all the additional activities, the stands, the relaxed atmosphere and the huge party on Sunday night constitute its heart. Naturally, the side events will be thoroughly prepared again this year so that Noordwijk can once more become synonymous with beach and sports fun over the Whitsun weekend (22 to 24 May 2010).

During the KBO, people can become acquainted with kitesurfing in multiple ways. There are meet & greets with the best kitesurfers such as reigning world champion Kevin Langeree. There will be free kitesurfing clinics with, among others, kiter Ruben Lenten, but also surfing and stand-up paddleboarding clinics. The big trampoline allows you to improve your handle pass and a super fast rib rally trip will offer a sea-based perspective on the KBO.

The best (kite)surfing films will be screened on the beach under the title 'Movies@The Beach' along with a contribution from Floortje Dessing (Dutch television personality). Not many people know that, when she has the time, Floortje loves getting onto the water at the best kitesurfing spots. On Sunday night, we will be hosting the by now legendary Kite Board Open beach party which will start with a band and will carry on until the early hours with the best DJ’s. Finally, on Monday afternoon, the KBO will be concluded by the presentation ceremony.

This event is open to all those that enjoy the beach, waves and the sea, and want to become acquainted with this spectacular, rapidly developing sport. Admission and participation in activities is free: and
