Nordweijk has showed a foggy preparation day and finally made it to offer 12 to 15 knots of northerly winds to 62 competitors from 13 countries. The day started with four racings follwed by a single elimination in freestyle. “It is the perfect synergy of a grown big soul event with great parties and side activities and tough sports hosting European top riders as well as the dutch kiteboarding protagonists”, Heiko Cramer event manager of the hosting club KSN (Kust Surf vereniging Noordwijk) states.
German Champion Freestyle Mario Rodwald already placed within the last four riders. His next heat will be against dutch Tijn van Esch who holds 5th place Dutch Championships of 2009. The other
couple of riders fighting for the semi final will be Polish Victor Borsuk who already made it to rank five in the previous stop of the Kitesurf Tour Europe in Podersdorf against Steve

The girls only one dutch girl is within the last four with a chance to win the single elimination: 24 year old Lisette Blankenstijn from Groningen has to ride against the swiss Celine Collaud who lives in Silvaplana wich will be the fourth leg of the 2010 tour shedule. “I will try to ride as aggressive as I can, being aware that Celine already has won the previous freestyle event in Podersdorf”, Lisette stated today. Caroline Adrien from France and Johara Syke-Davies, freestyle winner of Podersdorf will be the next couple to go for the title.
With the participation of the acting World Champion in racing Bruno Sokra (France) racing dicipline was really tough within the fleet of the first riders: Fulfilling his expectations Bjoern Rune Jensen (acting leader of the racing fleet) was able to defeat Bruno in two races. But another french rider Julien Kerneur who was already successful Mondial du vent took the french honor and is placed third up to date. The best dutch rider in Nordwijk racing on may 22nd are racing specialist Rolf van der Vlugt and Eddy Lansink, who i a kind of multi talent specialized in exotic kiteboarding activities like long distance or his famous extreme high jump published in the web. While racing is a lot about tactics and experience 17 year old yougster Florian Gruber from Garmisch in the German alps in front of Sebastian Bubmann and Dirk Hanel who is expecting the final day with better weather forecast to get a podium place like in the previous event.
So there is no wind for may 22nd but all results are already valid up to date. Expecting some more wind for the final day a trampoline contest and wakeboarding action will entertain the athletes.
