The caravan travels on to Switzerland

On wednesday the caravan starts to travel again: Kiteboarding on top of the world – for the fourth stage of the European championship in Kiteboarding at lake Silvaplana clos to the famous St. Moritz. The best kiteboarders of the World will compete in freestyle and racing to be borne by the Maloja winds.

In freestyle 26 year old Swiss Celine Collaud already succeeded in Podersdorf ...

and is leading the womens Freestyle fleet: "to me it`s a great experience to ride against competitors from all over Europe in my home country which ist not well known for kiteboarding opportunities on my homespot".

17 year young Marco Brunschwiler from Gossau will try to beat Italian Alberto Rodina from Riccione 1st in men`s freestyle ranking. The Swiss racing crew has additional options: Martin Berger (45 years from Biel-Benken) already placed 5th on Lake Podersdorf kiteboard racing.

Racing is highly competitive: Current leader of the world ranking and 2009 World Champion Bruno Sroka from France leads ranking straight in front of the Danish Bjoern Rune Jensen (42 years), Dutch Rolf of Van der Vlugt (29 years and speed record holder with over 47 knots) and German Dirk Hanel (35 years).

In addition to this competition Swiss amateur kiteboarders will meet during the Silvaplana Event: The portal will honor the “Nachwuchs Checker” which is a video contest of rookie swiss athletes. Parties and music entertainment will complete this exciting kiteboarding event on top of the world. “ the Kitesurf Tour Europe is a great opportunity for us to proof that Silvaplana is not only the Corvatsch glacier and Skiing, but great summer holidays in healthy environment and young spirit” Menduri Kasper from Tourismus Silvaplana told. The location is ideally to be reached from Kiteboarders around lake Como in Italy, southern Germany, France and Austria. For Germany DB Autozug will be travel partner of the event.
